Dübendorf or St. Gallen (Empa) | Workload: 80–100%
Your Mission
You don’t just want to operate systems – you want to design, improve, and understand them.
Together with us, you will develop the IT landscape of the future: from architecture to automation to the secure deployment of business and research applications. You will work in an open, supportive team and combine technical skills with a joy for collaboration and clear communication.
- Design and implementation of modern server and container architectures (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD)
- Automation of deployments and operations (Ansible, IaC) – on-premises and in the cloud
- Monitoring, logging, testing, and security as building blocks in every application
- Development and maintenance of interfaces as well as use of modern tools and platforms for configuration and integration
- Implementation and optimization of security and governance concepts
- Leading your own projects from idea to go-live
- Education in computer science or comparable qualification
- Experience in system engineering, DevOps, or application development
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, virtualization, networking, CI/CD, cloud (AWS/Azure), and scripting
- Analytical, solution-oriented, a team player – and someone who successfully completes projects
- Scope for Creativity: Your ideas count – we give you the space to implement them
- Meaningful Technology: You work on systems that support and partly enable research and innovation.
- Flexibility: As a reliable employer, we promote flexible working – for example, with two days of home office per week. At the same time, personal exchange at the institute is important to us because it brings our research to life and connects us as a team.
- Development: Courses, conferences, certifications, training, and new technologies are naturally part of it
- Team Culture: Our team consists of people with very different backgrounds – what unites us is a shared passion for technology – regardless of origin or experience.
