Tasks:
- analysis and management of natural hazards, with particular reference to avalanche hazards
- preparation and support of planners in the development of avalanche hazard zone plans
- assessment and preliminary review of building applications and zoning plan amendments regarding avalanche hazards
- collaboration with districts and public authorities in the preparation and revision of avalanche protection projects
- support in monitoring activities of gravitational natural phenomena
- participation in the management of emergencies related to natural events
- technical and operational support to districts and public authorities in prevention, monitoring, and management of natural hazards
- public and authority outreach and information on natural risks and hazards
Requirements:
- bachelor + master or bachelor in forest engineering
- eligibility certificate or practice certificate
- proven experience in the aforementioned fields
- good knowledge of French and German (spoken and written)
- excellent knowledge and experience with conventional computer applications
- excellent knowledge of databases, GIS, etc.
- initiative and ability to work in a team
- organizational skills for own work
- willingness to work outside office hours
- ability to positively manage contacts with local authorities (Patriziati and Municipalities)
- furthermore, the scientific collaborator must be able to collaborate ideally with both superiors and colleagues
- must also be willing to participate in working groups established by the Forestry Section, where the presence of the scientific collaborator is foreseen and necessary for specific topics
Special remarks:
- the function of Scientific Collaborator I (class 10) can only be assigned to candidates with complete academic degrees: university license, degree, consecutive Bachelor + Master or university of applied sciences (Bachelor + Master 270/300 ECTS credits) and who have at least 15 years of professional experience in the required field
- the function of Scientific Collaborator II (class 9) will be assigned to candidates holding only a Bachelor or a short degree or to candidates with less than 15 years of professional experience in the required field and holding complete academic degrees: university license, degree, consecutive master or university of applied sciences (Bachelor + Master 270/300 ECTS credits)
- start of employment: to be agreed

Employment conditions:
- appointment or assignment: as provided by the Law on the organization of State employees and teachers of March 15, 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any legal changes concerning salary and organization are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment rate), flexible or according to service needs
