The district council is the judicial appellate authority in the area of child and adult protection and the first instance of appeal against decisions of municipal authorities. In addition, the district council supervises the activities of municipal authorities, special-purpose associations, and institutions. It consists of the president, who also acts as the deputy governor, as well as two part-time members and is administratively and professionally supported by the district council office.
We are looking for a lawyer for immediate start or by arrangement for deployment in all twelve district council offices of the canton of Zurich, fixed-term for at least 12 months.
Your tasks are:
- Preparation of resolution and judgment proposals for all districts
- Handling cases in all areas of responsibility of the district council, especially child and adult protection law, municipal law, social assistance law, school law, personnel law, and political rights.
- Support in procedural management and litigation
- Other tasks for the benefit of all districts, such as drafting consultations and taking minutes
You bring:
- Law degree (lic. iur. or MLaw)
- Enjoyment of new legal fields and complex legal issues
- Court and/or administrative experience
- Fluency in oral and written expression
- Quick comprehension
- High sense of responsibility, independence, and reliability
- Resilience and ability to work in a team
