About the job
After about two months of construction, the new photovoltaic system on the roof of the NKB headquarters building at Stansstaderstrasse 54 in Stans has recently been put into operation. A total of 274 solar modules ensure that around 110,000 kilowatt-hours of environmentally friendly energy are produced annually – this corresponds to about 12 percent of the building's total energy consumption. NKB is proud to take another step towards achieving its sustainability goals with the new system and to actively help shape the path to a climate-friendly future.
"The new solar system is a significant milestone for us, and I am very pleased that it is now operational," says Heinrich Leuthard, Chairman of the Executive Board of NKB. "Sustainability is a central concern for us and plays an important role in our daily actions. We handle our resources carefully and are constantly looking for ways to minimize our energy consumption. As a cantonal bank, we take responsibility and set a visible sign with the new system."
The implementation of the photovoltaic system is part of NKB's sustainability strategy. The bank is committed to sustainable solutions for an environmentally friendly future and has set itself the goal of reducing its own greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.
