Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospital institutions in the world according to the Newsweek 2025 ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and education.
Within the Human Resources Directorate (DRH), the Human Resources Administration (ARH) provides services to nearly 13,000 employees: personnel file management, contracts, absences/leaves, payroll, bonuses and promotions, reception, and administrative support.
Apprenticeship path (hospitals & clinics branch): 1st year at ARH, then 4 rotations in the 2nd–3rd years in key units (admissions, legal, billing, accounting) to build solid versatility in a sensitive and confidential environment.
Mission
- You write files, reports, minutes, and professional correspondence
- You check, file, archive, and update documents (paper/digital); you process files according to the Service procedures
- You receive, sort, and distribute mail; you keep databases up to date (personnel, patients, suppliers)
- You enter invoices after verification, post amounts to accounts, track payments, and issue reminders (up to collection if required)
- You welcome employees, patients, and the public, answer the phone, and provide information tactfully and confidentially
- You manage calendars (meetings, rooms), plan and organize appointments; you support administrative logistics
- You prepare statistics and monitoring tables; you contribute to orders and billing
- During rotations, you apply data protection and confidentiality rules specific to each Unit.
Profile
- You have completed your compulsory schooling and want to learn a useful administrative profession
- You have the ability to work in a team and also work independently
- You are logical and methodical, with a good memory, rigor, and proactivity
- You are organized, reliable, and flexible to switch from one activity to another according to the Service's needs
- Assets: ease with digital tools, careful spelling, interest in languages (German/English)
