ICT System Engineer

About the job

• Install, operate, control, monitor, and maintain ICT services for operational use in sensitive, air-gapped, and heterogeneous environments
• Collaborate in the following ICT services: Virtual infrastructure (VMWare), monitoring (PRTG), backup (Veeam), Windows platforms, Linux / K8s environments, Elasticsearch
• Operational tasks within a highly secure IT infrastructure, including creating and managing users and groups, handling support tickets, and providing servers & clients
• Ensure smooth ICT operations through a variety of monitoring and support systems
• Participate in IT projects and further develop ICT solutions in air-gapped environments

• Higher professional qualification in computer science (federal diploma or advanced federal diploma) or an equivalent education
• Solid experience in operating & further developing IT infrastructure services and understanding the dependencies between the various components within a large IT infrastructure
• Very good knowledge in Windows Server, AD, DHCP, DNS as well as basic knowledge of Linux / K8s, knowledge of VMware virtualization products
• You have excellent German (spoken and written) and technical English skills, French is an advantage
• Our IT landscape is subject to high security requirements, so security-oriented thinking and acting is essential for this position.
• Self-organization, customer- and solution-oriented, team player who accepts challenges, coordinates them, and follows through to completion
• On-site assignments at customers, mostly in Bern, and willingness to travel domestically and abroad
• Willingness to take on 7x24h on-call duties (10-20 days per year)
• Knowledge of army-specific processes is an advantage
• Category B driving license and impeccable reputation
