About the job
This is a demanding but also fulfilling task. In addition to caring for our patients, you will lead the intensive care unit both professionally and personnel-wise (administratively subordinated to the chief anesthesiologist, but professionally independent), train one to two assistant doctors (duration 3-6 months) in intensive care medicine, and take on teaching (medical training site category B for intensive care medicine). In addition, you will actively contribute to the further development of intensive care standards and quality assurance. If you bring the right mix of expertise, empathy, and humor, we could become an unbeatable team!
- Solid knowledge and broad experience in intensive care medicine and possibly in one of the specialties anesthesia, surgery, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or pain therapy (Swiss specialist title for intensive care medicine or Mebeko recognition) – our diseases/injuries are diverse, so we need someone with a broad spectrum of care experience
- Personality - we wish for a responsible, proactive, and humorous contact person who accompanies us competently and with a smile
- Commitment - there are many challenges on our ward, so great dedication, flexibility, and assertiveness are required
- Enthusiasm - we want to continuously develop and also rely on good doctors and nursing staff in the future, so joy in leadership tasks, future-oriented projects, and training work is an absolute must
- Loyal patients who appreciate your commitment – even if we cannot always show it perfectly.
- An engaged ICU team that supports you and takes care of us together with you.
- An innovative and progressive hospital culture as well as attractive remuneration and fringe benefits
- A position (also with the possibility to take on additional functions) at the Cantonal Hospital Glarus in the middle of the Swiss mountains – a place where others go on vacation! Our region offers you:
- Breathtaking nature: mountain peaks, forests, and clear lakes – perfect to clear your head after a strenuous day.
- Fresh air and tranquility that you will search for in vain in the big city – and if you do long for it, the city of Zurich is only an hour away.
- Numerous leisure opportunities – whether hiking, skiing, or simply enjoying the view.
The Cantonal Hospital Glarus is located in the midst of the spectacular Glarus mountain world – only an hour from Zurich. Here, high quality of life is combined with numerous opportunities for mountain sports and outdoor activities. With 65 acute care beds and 6 ICU beds, Cantonal Hospital Glarus AG offers a broad range of specialties.
