As the fifth largest canton in Switzerland with around 6000 employees, we are committed to the common good of society at the cantonal administration. With an impressive variety of services, our work affects all areas of life, whether education, economy, law, security, nature, health, construction, culture, or finance. Through our meaningful work, we leave a small footprint every day, as it is relevant to over half a million people.
The Office for Spatial Development and Geoinformation (AREG) is responsible for spatial development policy, official surveying, and the provision of geoinformation. The specialist area also includes construction outside building zones. In the Department for Construction Outside Building Zones (BaB), we assess all building applications located outside building zones (e.g., in agricultural zones or protected zones) and check them for compliance with the Federal Act on Spatial Planning. We take the lead in the substantive legal coordination within the cantonal administration. We see ourselves as a service provider, which is why advising applicants and municipalities is an important part of our work.
For the Department for Construction Outside Building Zones (BaB), we are looking for a temporary maternity cover from October 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, or by agreement.
Workload: 80 - 100%
Workplace: St. Gallen
