About the job
Are you looking for a new challenge? The Hausen am Albis library is a combined school and community library. It offers cultural events for all age groups and is an important meeting place in the community. The library's media collection is diverse and includes not only books but also non-books and e-media. Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for a responsible and reliable library manager (30 - 50%) starting November 1, 2026 (or by arrangement).
Your main tasks:
- Organization and management of the library
- Personnel management of two employees
- Budget and investment planning including ongoing costs
- Building, expanding, and maintaining the media collection
- Independent lending and customer advice (all age groups)
- Independent supervision of school classes (introduction, advice, and lending)
- Planning, organizing, and conducting various events
- Assisting with administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Completed vocational training or secondary school education
- Good user skills with computer, internet, and research
- Confident German language skills in speaking and writing
- Basic interest in the media landscape
- Enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults
- Teamwork skills, social competence
- Flexibility regarding working hours
- Short commute, ideally residing in Oberamt
- Initiative, creativity, and resilience
- Precise, independent, and reliable working style
- Willingness to complete training as a SAB librarian
