familea is a socially responsible association with a 125-year tradition in the Basel area. In over 40 daycares, we care for around 3,000 children. We operate children and youth homes, the foster care center, and social and legal counseling for women. Our services strengthen families, children, and women. They promote the compatibility of family and work, contribute to equal opportunities and integration. With over 900 employees - including around 200 trainees and students - we are a recognized and significant professional and training institution in the social sector.
familea's residential care offers 56 places for children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 years or older, cared for in seven residential groups of 8 places each. They are accompanied, supported, and challenged 365 days a year in coeducational groups with different age structures. All children and adolescents attend public schools or a training institution.For our Youth Residential Group Yellow, one of four residential groups in the Children's Home Lindenberg, we are looking for a social pedagogue FH/HF 80% starting August 1, 2026, or by arrangement:

In this lively and adventurous residential group, we accompany young people aged 14 to 20 years into an independent life. The young people bring many different personalities and life stories, which makes everyday life exciting and very varied.
You are an open and empathetic; linguistically skilled as well as flexible person with heart and bring a resource- and solution-oriented attitude to fulfill this task. Your positive basic attitude complemented with humor also carries you through crisis situations in everyday life. Furthermore, you are characterized by your individual creative working style, which is rounded off by your experiential pedagogical resources and your enthusiasm for sports and nature. Your empathetic and trustworthy manner also enables you to connect with children and adolescents on an equal footing and to build sustainable relationships with an appropriate proximity-distance balance.
With your expertise, you are able to quickly and effectively establish an effective working relationship within the helper system and support the children and adolescents on their path in a participatory process. As an employee, you are responsible together with a committed team of 6-7 people for the following tasks:
Area of responsibility:
- Accompanying the children and adolescents in the residential group, in managing everyday life, finding and implementing a perspective, and crisis management
- Resource- and solution-oriented work as a reference person including interdisciplinary collaboration in the client system (and case management).
- Independent and creative coaching of young people in promoting self-responsible life design.
- Administrative tasks such as writing reports and protocols, written correspondence in the client system, and maintaining group documentation
- Active and appreciative participation in the team and taking responsibility for cross-group collaboration in the house during weekends and holidays as well as in working groups, camps, and leisure activities.
- Motivated participation in the team during change processes and creative problem solving
- Taking over departments and/or cross-group areas of responsibility
Requirements:
- You have a degree as a social pedagogue FH/HF* and preferably professional experience in the residential setting of child and youth welfare
- You have experience in reference person work and networking
- You appreciate irregular work assignments and hours (including night and weekend shifts)
- You are characterized by your initiative, independence, and reliability
- You enjoy working with children and adolescents and have a sense of humor
- High social competence, motivation, and resilience are among your strengths
- You have solid computer skills (MS Office)
- You possess a category B driver's license (advantageous)

State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SBFI must be attached.
