Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities. Its mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, and quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
A position for a 70% sociocultural animator is open within the Plateau Neighborhood House association.
Job Description
- Assume co-responsibility for the Children’s Sector.
- Manage the tasks related to Wednesdays by registration and summer camps.
- Manage tasks related to activities, including supervising and monitoring four instructors, two FINC instructors (Integration Fund for children with specific educational needs), a cook, a kitchen assistant, and interns.
- Manage sanitary and operational standards of the kitchen with the concerned staff.
- Participate in neighborhood festivals and/or other events organized by the association.
- Actively participate in developing the Neighborhood House activity program and monitoring the association’s project in consultation with the team and the association’s committee.
Develop and maintain dynamic and trusting internal communication between the center’s partners, ensuring the flow of information between the team, the committee, FASe, municipal authorities, and the network.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level or an equivalent university degree (education sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology / State Diploma of Specialized Educator (DEES), Higher State Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS). SEFRI recognition of DEES/DESJEPS must be obtained during the first year in the position and grants access to the maximum function class.
- Successful experience in animation and interest in the Children’s Sector 4-12 years old.
- Ability and willingness to work in a team and network.
- Recognized skills in project design and presentation, creative and dynamic spirit.
- Good experience in organization and planning, priority management.
- Ability to work autonomously while working in a team.
- Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor, and respect deadlines.
- Experience in communication, multimedia, and social networks.
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social system and the functioning of FASe.
- Knowledge in HR management and financial management (budget and cash).
