About the job
The Vocational and Continuing Education Center BWZ Lyss is a modern and future-oriented educational institute with strong roots in the canton of Bern and recognition among various stakeholders.With us, all courses of the continuing education concept for carpenters of the VSSM/FRECEM can be completed. As a recognized school location in the Bernese Seeland, we meet the required accreditation criteria and are authorized to conduct these courses. Depending on the chosen level of continuing education, the path to becoming a master carpenter with a federal higher professional examination and federal diploma can be completed with us.

Lecturer Higher Vocational Education Carpenter VSSM
Specialization Design and Visualization
Your core task:
You develop and lead didactically high-quality and practice-oriented courses in the area of action competence design and drafting. Through your expertise, you enable continuing education participants to acquire the following skills:
• To capture, analyze, and structure products and spaces
• To use color, material, texture, and lighting effects creatively
• To critically further develop drafts
• To apply and describe construction and design styles
• To apply ergonomic and aesthetic proportions
• To visualize design ideas effectively in 2D and 3D
• To implement creative and technical requirements in design
The modules take place annually from calendar week 04, each Friday at BWZ Lyss (total approx. 70 lessons/year).
Your profile
- Professional experience in the design, planning, and presentation of carpentry and interior construction projects
- Expertise in contemporary design and presentation theory (2D/3D)
- Confident handling of CAD/visualization tools and design processes
- Knowledge of current building styles, materials, surfaces, lighting, and color effects
- Enjoyment in imparting knowledge and working with adult learners
- Self-critical, constructive assessment and promotion of design processes
- Pedagogical training equivalent to at least SVEB Trainer Certificate/didactic basic module A or willingness to complete it
- Digital affinity (MS Teams, Moodle learning platform)
- Commitment and enthusiasm for teaching in higher vocational education
- Sociable, independent, flexible, dynamic, creative
