The Waldhaus beider Basel opened in February 2023 and is located in the Birsfelder Hardwald on the outskirts of Basel, nestled in the midst of nature. It includes a boutique hotel with 20 rooms, a traditional restaurant with a large terrace, and a refreshment stand with a unique view of the Rhine. The offer consists of gastronomic classics and dishes that are to be expected "in the forest" and "on the Rhine." The culinary offer is complemented by the self-produced soft drinks of the Wyniger Group: beer from the "Stadtmauer Brauer" brewery and various Rhine brand products. The contemporary traditional business focuses on regional and seasonal products.<div><br></div><div>The Waldhaus beider Basel is part of the owner-managed Wyniger Group, which operates several restaurants, bars, hotels, as well as a brewery, roastery, a cleaning company, and a wine shop with its own spirits brands in the Basel region.</div>
For our à-la-carte restaurant as well as for internal events and at other locations, we occasionally look for temporary cooks.<div><br></div><div>The assignments are on call, depending on demand – there is no fixed workload. You support our kitchen team both in the à-la-carte operation and at events.</div><div><br></div><div>If you are flexible, enjoy cooking, and like to step in where support is needed, we look forward to getting to know you.</div>
Your tasks
• Preparation and presentation of dishes according to the specified standards<div>• Ensuring the high quality and freshness of the dishes</div><div>• Control of the preparation and portioning of dishes</div><div>• Monitoring cleanliness and hygiene at the station</div><div>• Support in storage and inventory control of ingredients</div><div>• Close cooperation with the entire kitchen team and other departments</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
Your profile
o Completed training as a cook EFZ or a comparable qualification<div>o First professional experience in upscale gastronomy, ideally as Demi Chef de Partie or in a similar position</div><div>o Passion for cooking and interest in working with high-quality ingredients</div><div>o Team spirit and communication skills</div><div>o Very good knowledge in the areas of hygiene, cleanliness, and quality control</div><div>o Resilience and flexibility in stressful situations</div><div>o Creativity and an eye for detail in the preparation and presentation of dishes</div><div><br></div>
