Head of Real Estate Department (80-100%)
The administrative office forms the service center of the Zurich church community. On behalf of the church council, the real estate department bears overall responsibility for the significant building stock with around 200 properties, including churches, parish houses, rectories, as well as residential and commercial properties. A team of around twenty employees is responsible for portfolio management, operation, as well as development, construction, and maintenance, working closely with the local church districts.
Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for a team-oriented and committed personality as of October 1, 2026, or by agreement
Your tasks
- Personnel, professional, and financial management of the real estate department
- Consulting and preparation of decision-making bases for the executive and the parliament
- Further development of the real estate portfolio according to location planning, mission statement, and key figures
- Responsibility for the provision and implementation of budget and multi-year planning
- Overall responsibility for all construction, maintenance, and development projects as well as their coordination and support towards authorities, partners, and the public
- Further development of the department (team, processes, tools)
- Consistent implementation and further development of sustainability topics
- Design and moderation of processes
- Member of the management team
Your profile
- University degree, preferably in architecture with additional training in business, real estate management, or spatial development
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in the real estate environment, ideally in the public-law or non-profit sector
- Solid knowledge in real estate management and real estate economics as well as experience in construction and project management / project development
- Understanding of accounting and/or public finance
- Ideally experience in sustainability and environmental issues as well as dealing with complex and/or historic building fabric
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a healthy balance between innovative thinking and pragmatism
- Strong communication skills, integrative, assertive, socially competent, service- and solution-oriented
- Confident appearance, resilience, and initiative
- Identification with the values and goals of the Reformed Church
