The EOC, the multisite hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The organization effectively combines a local approach and an overall vision, guaranteeing the population a comprehensive and local hospital offer, regardless of where the services are requested.

Thanks to the commitment and competence of over 6,500 collaborators and their attention to human relations, the EOC ensures quality healthcare by caring for over 41,000 inpatients annually and providing over 600,000 outpatient consultations.

Profile

The EOC endocrinology and diabetology service guarantees, as its primary mission, specialized care for the entire Canton Ticino and is therefore present at all the institute's locations. The service is also active at the academic level, within the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Italian Switzerland, and develops and manages research projects also in collaboration with external institutes.

At the EOC site in Lugano, the service is located at the Italian Hospital where specialized visits are held daily, with particular reference to thyroid/parathyroid diseases and diabetes. The service also collaborates in managing inpatients at the Civic Hospital with ad hoc consultations.

The physician works independently and interdisciplinarily, promoting the skills required by the function of Head Physician.

Necessary requirements

• degree/diploma in medicine and specialization title in endocrinology or equivalent and related registration with MedReg before starting work.
• For doctors with foreign titles, recognition by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions MEBEKO and related registration with MedReg before starting work is mandatory;
• proven knowledge of the Italian language
• (required level at least B2) with related registration with MedReg
• before starting work, knowledge of other national languages and English is desirable;
• proficiency in IT tools.
