Project Manager NexSud and FADECIV, Chad (100%)
The International Cooperation Department of Caritas Switzerland (CACH) has a historic presence in the Sahel, notably in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, and Chad. Present in Chad since 1973, CACH has developed a strategy focused on three main themes: income, climate, and migration. Its action is based on a systemic and multi-stakeholder approach, promoting the creation of strong synergies between humanitarian and development actors, the civilian population, the government, local authorities, and the private sector. Currently, CACH employs 80 people, distributed between its main office in N'Djamena, its two regional sub-offices in Ati and Koumra, as well as four operational branches located in Baïbokoum, Goré, Maro, and Moissala.
The NexSud project is a major project, amounting to 20 million euros over 5 years (2023-2028), funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the European Union (EU). It is implemented by a consortium bringing together CACH and the two national NGOs IHDL and APLFT, and is based on mutual capacity strengthening, collaboration on an equal footing, and an adaptive management method. NexSud aims to improve the living conditions and resilience of communities affected by mobility dynamics (refugee, returned, and host populations) in southern Chad. It adopts the triple nexus approach, combining humanitarian, development, and peace actions. Alongside NexSud, CACH is implementing a pilot project, FADECIV , also funded by the AFD to the tune of 1.5 million euros over 18 months (2025-2026), which aims to facilitate the issuance of civil status documents for returned communities in southern Chad.
As part of the implementation of NexSud and FADECIV, CACH is looking for a Project Manager. Female applications are particularly encouraged.
