About the job
What you will do here
- Be responsible for the organizational and quality-assuring management of the Training area at the Department of Engineering and Computer Science , including operational control and coordination of the specialist areas as well as budget responsibility for the Teaching area; in this role, you are also the deputy director and lead a small team
- Coordinate the strategically oriented development of curricula in the BSc degree programs and provide impulses for related innovations
- Lead the Teaching Commission of the TI Department; represent the TI Department in the BFH Teaching Commission and in other interdepartmental committees
- Handle student special cases (plagiarism, complaints) and compensations for disadvantages conclusively; keep regulations up to date (degree program and examination regulations, instructions concerning teaching)
- Ensure the smooth transfer of the Teaching Department or teaching operations to the Biel/Bienne campus, in close cooperation with the Head of Teaching of the AHB Department; lead the TI Teaching work package within this synergy project
What you ideally bring with you
- University degree at master’s level in a STEM field (PhD advantageous); university didactic training and several years of experience in university teaching, ideally with a dual profile of teaching and research
- Deep understanding of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences system and their feeder schools as well as good professional understanding of the disciplines of the TI Department; leadership skills in a university environment
- Strong communication and cooperation skills, decisiveness even in uncertainty; respect for academic freedom and the ability to translate visions into concrete steps
- Operational technological tool competence (Learning Management Systems, learning platforms, educational resources)
- Native German or business fluent, French (B2 or higher) as well as English (B2 or higher)
