The Social and Society department with the divisions Administration/Accounting, Society Specialist Office, Social Welfare Office as well as Youth and Family Support assists and accompanies people in personal, social, and economically difficult life situations. Designed as a preventive and advisory service, the Society Specialist Office ensures low-threshold access for citizens of the city of Rorschach to social services. Your exciting area of responsibility
- Voluntary social counseling for residents of the city of Rorschach with a focus on budget and debt counseling
- Participation in open short consultations at the Info*Office: counseling in various life situations / referral to other agencies and networking in Rorschach / questions about everyday life: leisure, housing, health, language, coexistence and integration / filling out forms and applications (except tax returns)
- Collaboration and networking with partners, institutions, and specialist offices;
- Conducting welcome and information talks with newly arrived migrants
- Participation in the further development of the Society Specialist Office
- Representation and support of the head of the Society Specialist Office
What you bring with you.
For this demanding task, you bring a degree as a social worker FH or an equivalent qualification. You enjoy working on complex financial and personal situations, explaining contexts clearly, and developing sustainable solutions together with those affected. Your open and sociable nature as well as your enthusiasm for versatile work distinguish you, and you have experience in low-threshold counseling. You have basic knowledge of social insurance law (focus on subsistence security as well as coexistence and integration), enjoy working independently and in an agile and dynamic team. You are characterized by high empathy but also assertiveness and flexibility. Due to the design of the services, the fixed working days are: Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning. The distribution of the remaining percentage of the position is by arrangement.
