Trainer/in Carpentry 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 staff with diverse professional profiles. JuWe is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Uitikon Measures Center (MZU) is the socio-pedagogical-therapeutic competence center of JuWe for the criminal and measure enforcement of juvenile and young adult offenders.
For our open department, we are looking for a committed, innovative, and open personality as a trainer in the carpentry workshop starting March 2026 or by arrangement, who accompanies young people on their way to a professional future with expertise, patience, and enthusiasm.
Your area of responsibility
- You take over the practical vocational training as well as the individual support of several young offenders
- You independently and proactively plan, organize, and structure the work preparation – from planning to implementation including assembly
- With targeted pedagogical guidance, you promote the professional as well as social skills of the youths
- You accompany the young offenders during their basic training to become certified carpenters (EFZ and EBA)
- You regularly assess the youths' performance based on monthly qualifications
- You document the individual development process in meaningful progress reports
- In addition, you actively participate in diverse customer orders and contribute your expertise and experience with commitment
Your profile
- You have completed vocational training as a certified carpenter (EFZ)
- You have experience in work preparation and planning and confidently use digital tools (e.g., Vectorworks interiorcad, Triviso ERP)
- You gladly take responsibility for programming, operating, and processing the CNC machine (NC-Hops) and bring corresponding knowledge
- Ideally, you already have the SVEB training or are motivated to complete it soon
- Thanks to your several years of professional experience, you navigate the workday confidently and competently
- You enjoy training and supporting apprentices and have already gained initial experience in this area
- You master the German language confidently in spoken and written form and are proficient in using MS Office applications
- You are physically and mentally resilient and remain calm and composed even in challenging situations
- Your reputation is impeccable, and you are at least 28 years old
