About us
We are the System Operations department. We bring together the operational responsibilities of the 24/7 operation of the Swiss transmission network. Chronologically, this starts with the teams coordinating the decommissioning of network elements several years in advance up to real-time operation and ensuring the secure electricity supply of Switzerland. The department is responsible for many network operation processes. This includes determining the transmission network capacities (NTC) at all Swiss borders, maneuvering network elements, forecasting and analyzing network status, congestion management with, for example, redispatch, voltage control, frequency regulation, and program management. To ensure this, we are strongly connected to other Swissgrid departments and represent Swissgrid in national and international committees.
