Finance Clerk/Deputy Head of Finance (m/f/d)

The National Roads Department Area VI of the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of St.Gallen makes a significant contribution to the safety of the national roads in the cantons of Glarus, Thurgau, and St.Gallen with its maintenance work.

For the finance area, we are looking for a

Finance Clerk/Deputy Head of Finance (m/f/d)

at the St.Gallen location starting January 1, 2026, or by agreement

Workload: 80-100%

Workplace: St.Gallen

What to expect

• Management of cost and performance accounting including recalculation for the annual financial statements and the preparation of the corresponding documents and evaluations
• Cost and performance controlling per month, quarter, and annual financial statements
• Participation in the processing, checking, and approval of creditors
• Monthly invoicing of services rendered for third parties
• Maintenance and participation in the further development of master data (cost centers, cost carriers, etc.)
• Active involvement in optimizing processes in accounting
• Assuming tasks as deputy to the Head of Finance

What distinguishes you

• Commercial basic training or equivalent education
• Completed further training as a finance clerk or comparable further training
• Professional experience in a similar function
• Very good knowledge of modern IT tools and office applications, especially Microsoft Office Excel
• High flexibility and resilience
• Enjoyment of a hands-on environment
• Willingness to continue education
