Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of seven main departments of JuWe. With 399 places, JVA Pöschwies is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfills a central state function and, according to legal mandate, takes into account the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public.
We are looking for an independent, committed, and highly organized personality for the Education & Leisure department, starting immediately or by arrangement, who wants to contribute in various areas.
This is your area of responsibility
- You design and coordinate the leisure program for the admitted persons, from course planning to coordination with supervisory staff and external course instructors
- You supervise two admitted persons in the library and media library and ensure smooth operation
- You plan and organize celebrations, events, and tours at JVA Pöschwies and work closely with internal and external partners
- You take care of the equipment and maintenance of the sports and fitness facilities
- You promote leisure activities in the residential groups, bring in new ideas, and actively drive the further development of the leisure area
- In the absence of the Head of Education & Leisure, you represent her
What you bring
- After completing your basic training, you have ideally completed further training in the social, pedagogical, or agogic field and have at least five years of professional experience
- You are interested in sports and ideally have personal or professional experience in the fitness area
- You are an organizational talent who keeps an overview even with diverse tasks and work in a structured, precise, and independent manner
- You navigate well in a large organization, communicate openly, and actively approach your work partners
- With your high social competence, flexibility, and resilience, you present yourself confidently and gladly take on responsibility
- You communicate fluently in German, ideally have foreign language skills, and are proficient with MS Office and common administrative programs
- An impeccable reputation rounds off your profile
