The position is attached to the Operations Department. This department's mission is to ensure the stewardship and logistics necessary for the proper functioning of all HUG services, in terms of catering, cleaning and disinfection of premises, and laundry hygiene. It also manages the sterilization service, the biomedical and equipment service, as well as Cressy-Santé. More than 1,300 professionals carry out their missions daily with constant rigor, a sense of service, and environmental responsibility.
The Sterilization Service, ISO 13485 certified, is a technical and scientific institutional expertise service composed of several activity sectors such as washing, reassembly of surgical sets and trays, and steam and low-temperature sterilizations.
Job Description
Under the responsibility of the production manager, you are part of a team of group leaders who share the management of the 70 medical device technologists in the service from their start and on a daily basis.
You organize and ensure the reprocessing services of medical devices for all HUG services (operating rooms, care services, or any other internal client) and external clients, relying on your customer service-oriented attitude.
You coordinate the handling of medical devices according to good sterilization practices, priorities, and urgencies for the operating rooms and all clientele.
You know how to analyze situations, decide, work autonomously and as a team to optimize the use of technical resources according to priorities and needs.
Sensitive to patient presence and hospital constraints, you supervise and enforce the application of procedures and protocols defined in the service's quality assurance system and all professional best practices.
Your organizational and planning skills ensure the handling of medical devices according to the resources and needs of the different sectors while maintaining a balance between production needs and employee well-being.
By nature positive, optimistic, and attentive, you motivate and support your collaborators by developing team spirit. You maintain a partnership climate to proactively manage complex situations involving several professional actors.
You demonstrate rigor and manage with respect and recognition while showing fairness. You ensure to provide regular feedback to develop your team's skills.
You update your collaborators' and your own knowledge related to sterilization through continuing education and congresses.
Qualifications
You have the ideal profile if you hold a Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as a medical device technologist or possess STE 2 with 5 years of sterilization experience including 1 year in hospital sterilization, complemented by management training with at least 2 years of team leadership experience.
You have an exemplary attitude and embody institutional values (trust, respect, team spirit, recognition, equality & inclusion).
You are proficient with office software Excel and Word and ideally have good experience with ERP software.
You have a very good command of the French language, both spoken and written.
Additional Information
You have a regular schedule, and you are available outside working hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays for on-call duty according to rotation and urgent interventions.
