Your mission
- Lead and coordinate technical activities within his dedicated field. Conduct and lead high complexity task without supervision.
- Support in his engineering field during product development. Is the local technical authority for metallic materials and surface treatments and first level of escalations.
- Proactively communicates and aligns cross-functionally with the adjacent engineering fields and department outside engineering such as operations, quality, procurement and other teams.
- Support processes and product continuous improvements to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand. Propose market-oriented initiatives to improve existing products, technologies and production processes
- Write and review technical documentation, project related deliverables and other specifications related to his field of work (e.g. Test Plan). Adapt to the product- and mission-specific requirements.
- Utilize project management techniques / tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
- Work package / Task Manager. Owns technical, budget and schedule responsibility for fulfilment of tasks assigned by projects.
- Participate in (Non Conformance Review Board) according to the NC process. Actively propose technical solutions in his field of activity. Carries out technical risk management and perform Root Cause Analysis
- Technical responsible in his field of work for the recruitment process. Identify and maintain key technical skills in his field within the department. Ensure standardization within their field of activity.
- Coach more junior engineers and external employee and review their work.
- Provides information on new products, processes and technologies to the engineering directorates.
Your story
- Master’s degree or PhD in Material Science, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
- Minimum 10 years’ technical experience in the field.
- Profound knowledge in the following fields:
- Metallic materials & processes, surface treatments and adhesive bonding
- Associated special processes e.g. NDI)
- Qualification, certification and validation of materials and processes
- Additional expertise and knowledge in:
- Composites, in particular carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP)
- Non-metallic materials
- Leadership skills combined with excellent communication skills.
Nice to have’s:
- Space or Aerospace experience
- Knowledge of the space industry and market
- Project Management Acumen
