As Engineering Manager for People & Processes in our Retail Platform domain, you’ll shape the environment in which our product engineering teams can do their best work. You’ll focus on people leadership, team health, and process excellence, helping us scale effectively while keeping our culture strong. While a strong technical background is key to understanding the teams' needs, your role is non-technical in nature – your impact comes from enabling others.
Your Tasks
- Guide and support software engineers across multiple backend teams, fostering engagement, professional growth, and effective collaboration
- Drive capacity planning and hiring in close collaboration with Recruiting and other stakeholders
- Improve and evolve development processes that balance speed, quality, and team health
- Enable seamless collaboration between Product Managers and Engineers
- Facilitate alignment with other business units and foster a culture of cross-team support
- Promote psychological safety, inclusivity, and open feedback within the team
- Define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs), ensuring reliability, performance, and secure operations
What you bring
- Prior experience as a Software Engineer and deep understanding of modern engineering practices
- Several years of experience managing engineering teams – ideally distributed and cross-functional
- A passion for helping people grow, with a coaching-first leadership approach
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- A process-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and remove bottlenecks
- Familiarity with agile principles and how to apply them pragmatically
- A hands-on attitude combined with a drive to continuously improve teams and systems
