Justice Enforcement and Reintegration (JuWe) is an office of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 women and men from diverse professions. JuWe is primarily responsible for the enforcement of court judgments and the execution of pre-trial detention. For the employees of the office, preventing recidivism and the successful social reintegration of offenders is of particular importance.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) are one of seven main departments of the Justice Enforcement and Reintegration Office (JuWe) and are responsible for the enforcement of custodial sentences and court-ordered measures as well as for probation services. They make an important contribution to crime prevention and the social integration of offenders.
The Probation Department of Enforcement Area 2 is responsible for resource- and risk-oriented counseling within the framework of probation services as well as for case management of supervision orders, activity, contact, and area bans.
For this department, we are looking for a committed, confident, and assertive personality starting July 1, 2026.
This is your field of activity
- You manage probation mandates focusing on reducing recidivism and social integration
- You advise and empower your clients, refer them to suitable therapists, formulate treatment goals with professionals, and review the therapy progress and goal achievement
- You accompany and coordinate discharge preparations from measure enforcement with clients, their support networks, and involved institutions
- Additionally, you monitor compliance with orders and activity, contact, and area bans, organize concrete material assistance for your clients, and support them in the areas of relapse prevention, housing, work, finances, and health
- Through your participation in committees and projects, you help shape and develop the department
What you bring with you
- After completing your studies in social work or psychology (or a comparable background), you ideally have several years of professional experience in counseling people in difficult life situations or in a similar role. Knowledge of justice enforcement, forensic psychiatry, and/or case management is an advantage
- You are interested in forensic psychiatry and criminology as well as in working with mentally ill and addicted offenders
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination between various work partners is important to you. You work efficiently, precisely, and systematically
- You can express yourself fluently in German both in writing and speaking and have good counseling and communication skills. You are proficient in the MS Office suite
