The car is driving. From the outside, everything looks normal. Yet the vehicle reports a problem. Now you want to find out what’s behind it. You measure, compare, check data and get closer to the cause step by step.

If that makes you curious, Automotive Mechatronics Technician EFZ could be your profession.

More than just screwing.

Modern vehicles are full of technology. Sensors, computers and electronic systems constantly work together. You observe carefully, think logically and recognise connections until a problem becomes a solution.

Attention, precision and sensitivity count here. You work with measuring devices, check components and ensure that vehicles function reliably.

Brain on. Sleeves rolled up.

Sometimes you analyse a fault, sometimes you work directly on the vehicle. This very mix makes the profession exciting: you think along and get stuck in yourself.

Good maths skills are an advantage, as understanding measurements and recognising technical connections are part of your daily work.

Your mission…

• independently carrying out demanding repairs and taking on simple diagnostic tasks
• getting to know the state-of-the-art vehicle electronics and detecting faults
• learning proper installation, adjustment, inspection and maintenance
• working with measuring and diagnostic devices and engaging with new technologies
• performing system and function tests
