As a IT System Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing both IT and OT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration across workplace applications, IT systems, network components, and peripheral devices. You will play a critical role in securing, supporting, and optimizing mission-critical systems within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Your tasks
- Monitor, diagnose, and resolve complex and non-standard IT system issues through proactive onsite troubleshooting and specialized support.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and compliance of IT/OT infrastructure and local networks
- Coordinate with third-party engineers, control system integrators, and external vendors
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, and standards
- Evaluate and recommend IT hardware, operating systems, and application software for complex industrial environments
- Assess onsite business requirements, engineer infrastructure architectures, and design IT systems
- Investigate the impact of new ICT components on existing systems and make recommendations considering overall system integrity
- Monitor the lifecycle of system components and initiate replacement or renewal activities
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
- Diagnose and correct faulty states in complex, networked systems
- Improve installation and transfer processes
Your Profile
- Higher education in computer science and/or relevant certifications in Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience in IT/OT support within industrial/manufacturing environments
- Strong skills in Windows, Azure, Active Directory, VMware, and network protocols
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, ISA/IEC 62443) are a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Power Apps, Intune)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and practices
- Hands-on with industrial PCs, embedded and legacy systems
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
- Independent and pragmatic working attitude, ability to master complexity, to structure work and to facilitate and deliver solutions
- Fluent in German and English
