Job description
As a Global Capex Cost Analyst for our customer, you will be the global champion in project costing, supporting the Manufacturing & Engineering organization. Your main mission is to lead the development, rollout, and exploitation of processes and competencies to ensure estimated and achieved project costs are effectively managed and monitored across all stages of the project process.
🔥 Your responsibilities:
- Develop standardized cost estimating and forecasting processes and tools.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive cost database of achieved costs for all investments.
- Create analysis methodologies to review project costs versus internal and external benchmarks.
- Proactively challenge project cost estimates at the request of senior leaders.
- Advise project teams on contemporary project cost management tools and techniques.
- Develop processes for project cost review and challenge at any step of the end-to-end project process to support governance.
- Compile and analyze project costs across the organization for benchmarking purposes.
- Codify cost structures for all projects and deploy standardized cost evaluation methodologies.
- Lead improvement activities based on project cost analysis.
- Collaborate with indirect procurement and finance to target common improvements.
- Contribute to Project Closure Reports to ensure standardized achieved cost evaluation and recording.
- Participate in project audits and peer reviews as requested.
🎯 Your profile:
- Over 10 years of experience in project cost evaluation across a wide range of project types (infrastructure, expansion, sustenance, etc.).
- Strong background in project execution, contractor management, and project process (contracting, FAT, SAT, commissioning).
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in complex structures and demonstrate challenge to the status quo.
- Willingness to travel and accompany project activities on site.
- Ability to influence and deliver across international cultures.
- Awareness of business environment and corporate strategic direction.
- Fluent in English.
- MS/BS in industrial, engineering, or chemical sciences, or a 5-year technical degree in a related discipline.
- Proven record in project and program management methodologies.
- Experience in change and/or operational management.
- Ability to develop, coach, and teach others in delivering change.
- Expertise in project cost evaluation, contingency reserve analysis, earned value management, Monte Carlo simulation, and cost benefit analysis.
- Data management skills to develop and share complex databases on project cost.
