Assistant prosecutor between 70% and 100% (multiple positions)

- The public prosecutor's office has the main mission of defending the general interest. Responsible for the uniform exercise of public prosecution, it is tasked with conducting the preliminary procedure, prosecuting offenses within the framework of the investigation and, if necessary, drawing up the indictment and then supporting it.
The public prosecutor's office is offering three assistant prosecutor positions:
- One position at 100%
- One position at 100% and one at 70% or one position at 90% and one at 80%.
We would appreciate it if you indicate in your cover letter whether you are applying for the full-time position (100%) or for one of the two part-time positions (70%–90%).
As an assistant prosecutor within the Public Prosecutor's Office, you ensure the independent handling of so-called mass criminal cases, relating to minor offenses that may result in monetary penalties or imprisonment of up to 120 days.
In this capacity, you analyze files, conduct legal research, participate in conciliation attempts, and conduct hearings. You also issue warrants to the police and make decisions such as non-entry into proceedings, dismissals, or penal orders.
By delegation of a prosecutor, you may be called upon to handle more significant cases, thus contributing to the management of more complex files within the Public Prosecutor's Office.
You work closely with the mass registry staff, to whom you delegate the administrative follow-up of files. You also participate in the training of trainee lawyers and take part, at the request of the Attorney General, in working groups and various projects.
You hold a master's degree in law and a lawyer's license as well as prior experience useful for the position, ideally in the judicial, prison, and/or law firm environment.
Recognized for your loyalty and discretion, you are strongly attached to the values of public service and demonstrate a real sense of responsibility.
Capable of working independently, you take initiatives within the scope of assigned competencies and are appreciated both for your rigor and your versatility. You are also recognized for your adaptability. Finally, you manage to handle a significant workload while resisting stress, thanks to excellent organizational skills and good priority management.
Specific skills:
- Very good knowledge of the field of criminal prosecution.
- Writing skills.
- Analytical and synthesis ability.
- Good knowledge of German.
- Ability to work independently.
- Discretion.
- Interpersonal skills and stress resistance.
This position also requires having a clean criminal record and no outstanding prosecutions.
