Social Deacon with Focus on Youth / Young Adults (80%)
The Church District Ten belongs to the Zurich Church Community and includes the districts of Höngg, Oberengstringen, and Wipkingen West. To support our committed diaconal team, we are looking for you immediately or by arrangement as
Your tasks
- Main responsibility for open youth work
- Maintaining relationships with adolescents and young adults
- Development of needs-oriented, participatory offers for adolescents and young adults
- Leadership of the middle school meeting on Wednesday afternoons
- Organization, implementation, and accompaniment of camps and offers such as Snow Weekend, Surf Camp, and Wintertime
- Implementation of intergenerational, diaconal projects such as Christmas sing-along, mobile phone workshop
- Support of events within the framework of religious education for secondary school (rpg3) • Training and promotion of young leaders
Your profile
- Completed training in socio-cultural animation, social work (FH), or comparable training with experience in youth work and/or adult education
- Social diaconal training desired or willingness to acquire it
- Empathetic and active connection to adolescents and young adults
- Conceptual strength and independent working style
- Strong ability to develop joint solutions within the team
- Enthusiasm, networked thinking, and pragmatic implementation skills
- Digital skills, especially in Microsoft Office and social media
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings or weekends; integration into existing appointments 2026/2027
- Affiliation with the Evangelical Reformed Church desirable
