The Regional Employment Center (RAV) plays an important role in the Swiss labor market. The advisors and employees of the RAV are competent contacts for both job seekers and employers. They advise and support in the job search and develop suitable strategies to successfully integrate as many people as possible into the labor market. The challenges are diverse and continuously increase in a dynamically changing working world.
We are looking for an inspiring and entrepreneurial personality to lead this demanding field of activity as
Department Head RAV 80–100 %
starting January 1, 2026, or by agreement, with the workplace in Glarus.
Tasks
- Personnel, professional, and organizational management and further development of the RAV department
- Ensuring the execution and results-oriented implementation of the Unemployment Insurance Act (AVIG)
- Strategic planning and implementation of measures according to the performance agreement between the federal government and the canton
- Monitoring the regional labor market and early detection of labor market developments
- Co-shaping cantonal labor market policy
- Active maintenance of networks with employers and partner organizations
- Project management as well as participation in cantonal and national projects
- Affinity for innovation, digitalization, and inter-institutional cooperation as well as their promotion
Requirements
- University or university of applied sciences degree in HR management or business administration, ideally with additional leadership training
- Leadership experience, preferably in the labor market, social, or public sector
- Good knowledge of Swiss labor market structures and relevant legislation (AVIG) is an advantage
- Leadership personality with high social competence, strong communication skills, and an appreciative and empathetic attitude
- Experience in strategic and conceptual work as well as decisiveness and implementation strength
- Interest and commitment to the further development of the labor market in the canton of Glarus and the region
