The University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (SUP GR) is a public law university with a cantonal responsible body. With around 350 employees, over 2000 students in the bachelor and master study cycles as well as 450 students in academic advanced training courses, it offers practice-oriented teaching, applied research and services in the specialist areas of economics and services, technology and IT as well as architecture, construction and planning. Its study programs are oriented towards the current challenges of the economy and society. As a regionally anchored university of national importance and international scope, it actively contributes to the success and competitiveness of people, institutions and regions.

For SUP GR we are looking for a chairman of the university school board starting July 1, 2026.

Tasks

The university school board is the governing and strategic control body of the university of applied sciences and its members are appointed by the Government of the Canton of the Grisons. For July 1, 2026, we are looking for a chairman as an additional position of the supreme governing body for the term of office 2026 – 2030.

What we expect from you

As a person with an integral, convincing managerial spirit and academic qualifications within the collegiate body, you are able to competently and effectively organize and accompany with foresight the strategic management as well as the demanding development and innovation processes of SUP GR.
Thanks to strong communication skills and the ability to think strategically as well as a flexible, interdisciplinary and process-oriented working method, you succeed in involving different interest groups, promoting open dialogue and managing change processes in a targeted and prudent manner.
You know the Swiss education and university landscape, the professional and tertiary level education offerings and have the political sensitivity necessary for education-related issues at the cantonal and national level, for example in research or innovation policy or in related educational sectors. You have proven and solid (specialist) knowledge of the current challenges faced by SUP GR. You know the political processes of the Canton of the Grisons. To promote the balanced composition of the university school board, in-depth knowledge in the field of law is an advantage.
As a motivated person with a connection to the Canton of the Grisons, you contribute significantly both to inter-cantonal and intra-cantonal cooperation and to connecting the institution with relevant regional actors and partners.
