Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents, and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defense of the interests of the child.
To fulfill its mission, the institution manages 47 structures spread across the Canton of Geneva, offers more than 500 places for minors and young adults, and also provides outpatient educational services at home. The FOJ is composed of 670 employees.
As part of the development of its activity, the FOJ is looking for a Director for educational homes for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (UMAS).
Job Description
Ensure the pedagogical and managerial implementation of the educational and social mission of the FOJ within the entrusted homes, in close collaboration with the deputy management of the homes.
Guarantee educational coherence and quality of services, notably through the supervision of individualized educational projects, respect for institutional values, and support for families within the legal framework.
Ensure the professional development and well-being of employees.
Ensure rigorous organizational management, including operational management of teams, administrative follow-up related to educational activities, and maintaining a collaborative, motivating, and empowering work environment.
Collaborate closely with deputy directors and internal teams, as well as with partners in the social and institutional network, to ensure continuity and relevance of services.
Actively participate in the emergence and implementation of innovative projects, promoting the adaptation of support to the needs of the young people received and contributing to the institution's dynamic evolution.
Activity rate: 100%.
Contract type: 12-month fixed-term contract, possibly extendable.
Start date: January 2026.
Grade: 20 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva.

Qualifications
Prerequisites for the position:
- Education: Bachelor level HETS or considered equivalent (recognition by SEFRI mandatory for foreign diplomas), complemented by a CAS in proximity management or considered equivalent. Continuing education in ethics, project management, legal aspects, or systemic approaches is also desired.
- Experience: confirmed experience in team leadership is essential. Proven ease in supporting, empowering, and enabling employees is expected.
- Knowledge: excellent knowledge of field educational work and the Geneva social network. Excellent writing skills, good understanding of administrative and financial processes (accounting, educational files), as well as ease in using digital tools.
- Personal skills: natural posture allowing to unite around institutional values and orientations, ability to position oneself with clarity and kindness, strong sense of organization and responsibilities, autonomy, initiative spirit and openness to change, required mobility and availability.
- Nationality: Swiss or valid work permit.
