Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians for Sterilization
The sterilization center is looking for several medical device reprocessing technicians with an activity rate between 60% - 100% (permanent contract). The starting date is scheduled for January 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching, and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilization, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The sterilization center is attached to the CHUV Hospital Logistics. Its main mission is to provide sterile and functional products to all CHUV user services, affiliated institutions, and external clients. Certified ISO 13485, it is a reference in the field of medical device reprocessing for other services and for external sterilizations. In this context, it provides training and information to the various health professionals involved.
Mission
- You master the medical device reprocessing process in accordance with client needs and respecting quality and institutional guidelines
- You ensure the operation of equipment in the relevant activity and report any malfunctions observed
- You perform cleaning, maintenance, and self-checks of the equipment provided
- You train permanent and temporary staff responsible for the activity
- You comply with current procedures and participate in their updating
- You are willing to work variable hours, mornings, evenings (from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm), weekends and public holidays, on-call duty.
The salary class ranges between 4 and 5 depending on the candidate's profile
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a medical device technologist or a diploma as a sterilization technician assistant 1 (level 1) - STE1 and a CFC relevant to the position
- You have at least one year of experience in the paramedical, hospital field or experience deemed useful for the role
- You enjoy working with technical equipment and demonstrate manual dexterity
- You appreciate teamwork, are precise, meticulous, methodical, adaptable, and have a strong sense of responsibility
- You have good knowledge of the French language, level B2 required
- You master common office tools and production software
- You are ready to work in a demanding environment (noise, heavy lifting, confined spaces).
