Job Description

Reporting directly to the Head of IT, you take overall responsibility for our IT infrastructure and lead a dedicated team of eleven employees. With your expertise, you drive the further development of our ICT landscape and actively participate in projects – from collaboration to partial or full responsibility. You increase IT security and make a central contribution to our digital transformation.

Your tasks

• You lead the IT infrastructure team (ICTS) both professionally and disciplinarily and are responsible for the budget.
• Together with your team, you ensure stable operations, monitor and optimize the infrastructure. Sources of errors are proactively identified, and backup and recovery measures are consistently implemented.
• You develop our IT infrastructure – both on-premise and in the cloud – including data center, storage, servers, and databases, in a targeted manner.
• You and your team are responsible for the network (including WAN), workplace, and telephony.
• You ensure up-to-date IT documentation and ensure strict adherence to change and problem management processes.
• You develop IT security strategies and implement them in close cooperation with the global IT of the Rexel Group.
• You ensure clear, audience-appropriate communication with internal and external stakeholders. Service providers are managed by you, and you monitor the quality of the services provided.
• You network with key persons in the group, present national projects and initiatives, and obtain the necessary group approvals.
• You work closely with the Digital Commerce department (webshop and app) to ensure smooth, efficient order intake and processing.

Qualifications

You have a completed degree in business informatics or a related field. In addition, you have the following qualifications and characteristics:

• Several years of experience in a similar leadership role in IT infrastructure
• Solid knowledge in the Microsoft environment (client & server) as well as in networks (ideally Cisco)
• Further training in project management (e.g., IPMA, HERMES, PRINCE2 or comparable)
• Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking and acting
• Technology know-how up to date with the latest standards
• Deep expertise in IT infrastructure technologies, IT security, and modern infrastructure concepts (e.g., hybrid cloud, virtualization, monitoring)
• Strong communication and leadership skills as well as a team-oriented working style
• Good negotiation skills and confident expression in German and English; French skills are an advantage
