Papirec SA, a company of the Barec Group, a long-established family business and one of the largest providers of complete recycling solutions in Switzerland, is looking for a:

Site Manager / Operations Manager

Main responsibilities of the role: 

Supervision and operational coordination of the Geneva site, the site manager carries out their main mission of coordination and general organisation. They are also the liaison person between all departments and between them and management.

Through their personality, they ensure the development of an entrepreneurial spirit among employees by motivating them through clear and precise task distribution as well as constant monitoring of their execution.

• Responsible for the site’s vehicles and equipment: servicing, maintenance and management of unforeseen events
• Responsible for the proper organisation of the site. They analyse situations and organise the means to be implemented for the smooth running of work, proposing suitable solutions for each intervention location.
• Coordinates their actions with the sales department and reports information.
• Supervises and coaches the operational teams on site.
• Ensures the cleanliness of the site, maintenance of machines and equipment, as well as safety.
• Ensures good quality relationships between all people working on site. They listen to their colleagues.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and enforces them (safety, hygiene, labour law, internal training).
• Actively participates in analyses (RECY), controls (RECY) and production tests,
• Controls and guarantees the quality of goods on entry and exit.
• Manages RPLP cards, organises collections and manages stocks (inventories)
• Operational presence to support teams
• Occasional and as-needed replacement of various workstations on site, including weighing: versatility, agility and flexibility
• Operation of machinery & control of production facilities as required
• Any other tasks necessary for the smooth running of the company

Profile sought:

• Certified recycler or equivalent training
• Forklift licence and experience in operating loaders
• Proven experience in an industrial environment, ideally in recycling or waste recovery
• Strong field experience and good understanding of operational realities
• Several years of experience in a similar role or with operational responsibilities
• Excellent command of French, any other language is an asset
• Good command of common IT tools (Windows, MS Office), essential
• Charismatic, pragmatic personality with natural authority
• Ability to set clear frameworks, enforce instructions and make fair and assertive decisions
• Solution-oriented mindset, able to manage unforeseen events effectively and make quick decisions
• Flexible, responsive and organised, able to manage priorities and adapt to field requirements
• Good listening skills and ability to unite a team while maintaining a trusting relationship with colleagues
