The Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g., when refueling), METAS carries out calibrations, conformity assessments, and consultations for business, research, and administration. Measurement accuracy creates trust, especially at the societal and political level, and is indispensable in many areas: road traffic, electricity billing, time transmission, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.
Your new challenge
- Technical and personnel management of the ICT team (currently 8 employees) including planning and prioritizing work, promoting employees, and further developing team competencies
- Comprehensive responsibility for the IT infrastructure: from architecture planning and configuration management (CMDB) of the hybrid system landscape (On-Prem & Azure/M365) to operational control and monitoring of all IT assets
- Ensuring IT operations and initiating and implementing ITIL processes as well as continuous optimization of operational workflows
- Planning and implementation of infrastructure and cloud projects, including lifecycle management and modernization
- Interface to internal stakeholders and external partners, including budget planning, supplier management, and ensuring service quality
Your profile
- Completed education in computer science (HF, FH or comparable degree) and several years of professional experience in system technology or IT infrastructure as well as proven further training in leadership
- Solid knowledge of On-Prem technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, network) and experience with Microsoft cloud services, especially M365, Azure services, identity and security concepts
- Good knowledge of ITIL processes (ideally ITIL certification), IT architecture (ideally TOGAF), and experience in structured process design
- Several years of leadership experience and pronounced leadership skills, communicative strength, strategic and holistic thinking, decisiveness, and a solution-oriented, proactive working style
- Active knowledge of two official languages (German and French) as well as English
