Join AICA SA, a robotics software startup building the platform for advanced robotics. We’re looking for a Business Development Manager/ Sales Engineer to lead sales efforts and work in lockstep with the product and engineering teams. In this role you would be pivotal to expanding AICA’s market reach, growing revenue, and building lasting client relationships.
About us
AICA was founded in Lausanne in 2019, the startup originally came from the Learning Algorithms and Systems Laboratory (LASA) of EPFL. Now based at the Unlimitrust Campus by SICPA, AICA develops state-of-the-art software designed to simplify robot integration and programming across diverse hardware. Our software, the AICA System and AICA Studio, enables more capable and flexible robotic systems.
Your role
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth, establish and manage a pipeline, and close opportunities effectively in the DACH region and EU in general.
- Deliver tailored need assessments, demos, and proposals to meet customer requirements.
- Proactively identify, engage, and nurture relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Optimize sales processes and leverage automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and focus on high-impact sales activities.
- Work closely with the wider AICA team to align on customer needs, market trends, and refine product offerings accordingly.
- Maintain accurate CRM records.
- Represent AICA at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Growth Potential: This role offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership position, including managing a sales team and driving international expansion by opening subsidiaries abroad.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in B2B software sales, particularly in startup companies and/or robotics, or industrial technology.
- A proven network and track record of sales to industry players.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and listening skills. Ability to grasp technical topics and articulate complex solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience working cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to align on go-to-market strategies.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Pipedrive), sales automation tools, and familiarity with managing a sales funnel.
- A generalist mindset and willingness to take on new challenges outside of one specific role.
- The ideal candidate will speak and write fluent business-level German and English. French and other languages are a plus.
Work Location:
- You should be located in Europe, preferably Switzerland, Germany, or Eastern Europe.
- Business trips in Europe and occasionally globally may be necessary.
- Regular trips to the office in Switzerland will be required, for onboarding, strategy and team building.
