Company Description
The Data Protection Office of the Principality of Liechtenstein (www.datenschutzstelle.li) is responsible for advising citizens, companies, associations, or authorities regarding data protection regulations (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act (DSG)). It is also responsible for monitoring and enforcing data protection in Liechtenstein. Due to the legal limitation of the management position, the position of Head of the Data Protection Office must be re-advertised for a period of six years in accordance with Art. 12 DSG.
Job Description
You feel at home in the following areas of activity:
- Technical, personnel, financial, and organizational management of the Data Protection Office as an independent supervisory authority within the meaning of Art. 52 GDPR
- Exercise of control and procedural management for the uniform implementation of the GDPR and the DSG at national and European levels
- Advising affected persons and responsible public and private bodies
- Raising public awareness for the protection of privacy
- Representing the Data Protection Office externally, especially in the relevant EU committees and other international institutions
Qualifications
You are particularly characterized for this position by:
- Completed studies in law
- Relevant professional experience, many years of leadership experience, and ideally administrative experience
- Sound knowledge of European and national data protection law as well as public law and administrative procedural law, as well as the European legal system and EU institutions
- Very good understanding of current developments in data protection, information technology, and the information society
- High commitment (especially willingness for further training and business trips)
- Confident, assertive personality with an independent working style as well as pronounced communication skills and social competence
- Strong negotiation skills and decisiveness as well as a high degree of responsibility
- Excellent and precise expression in spoken and written form; excellent English skills in spoken and written form; additional foreign language skills are an advantage
