Your new role
You are part of a small team and ensure a professional and contemporary auditing activity including reporting on the examination of the entire municipal financial budget and operations (sgsw, VBSG, KHK). Auditing mandates for organizations closely associated with the city administration also fall within your area of responsibility. Relevant accounting and auditing standards from the public and private sectors are decisive. Optionally, you will take over the secretariat of the Audit Committee of the City Parliament, organize meetings, take minutes, coordinate business, and support the committee administratively and substantively.
This position is for you if you
- bring a higher education in accounting, auditing, business administration, or an equivalent qualification.
- have several years of professional experience in auditing and possess good knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
- convince not only with your analytical and process- and risk-oriented working style but also with your prudent and confident demeanor.
- communicate confidently and appropriately both orally and in writing.
- are used to working very independently and responsibly.
- are a reliable, honest, and committed personality with high social competence.
- have organizational talent, especially for the work in the secretariat of the Audit Committee.
- have knowledge of organization, processes, and accounting in a public administration, which is an advantage.

The Financial Control
The Financial Control of the City of St.Gallen fulfills its mandate as an independent, politically neutral expert body of financial supervision. It is recognized as an auditing expert by the auditing supervisory authority. The Financial Control supports the City Council, the directorates, the administration, and the Audit Committee of the City Parliament in matters of supervision, accounting, and internal control. In addition, the Financial Control manages the secretariat of the Audit Committee.
