Professor of Historical Traverso Flutes (40 – 60%), Successor to Marc Hantaï
University of Music Basel FHNW, Schola Cantorum Basiliensis
Your tasks:
- You teach historical traverso flutes at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in repertoire from the Renaissance to the Romantic period
- In addition to solo playing, you also convey ensemble playing and chamber music in various formations
- In your class, you supervise students from Bachelor to specialized Master in musical performance
- You work closely with colleagues from other classes and contribute to giving the training at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis a distinctive profile
- You are a member of a dynamic and internationally composed faculty of about 70 lecturers and also engage in cross-class projects as well as the general development of the training programs at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis
Your profile:
- You hold a relevant degree from a music university (Diploma/Master) in the field of traverso flute in historical music practice
- You can demonstrate a distinguished international career in early music as a soloist and in ensembles
- You have a great interest in continuing the exploration of repertoire, instruments, and historical playing techniques
- Through pedagogical training or experiences at the university level, you possess a higher education didactic qualification or are willing to acquire one during your employment
- You have comprehensive knowledge of repertoire including historical sources on playing practice and the history of your instruments
- You are accustomed to reading original notation and improvisation or ornamentation techniques are part of your musical toolkit
- Good German and English skills are required
