The position is attached to the Operations Department . This department's mission is to ensure the stewardship and logistics necessary for the smooth operation of all HUG services, including catering, cleaning and disinfection of premises, and laundry hygiene. It also manages the sterilization service, the biomedical and equipment service, as well as Cressy-Santé. More than 1,350 professionals carry out their daily tasks with constant attention to quality, a sense of service, and environmental responsibility.
The Biomedical & Equipment Service, composed of 50 employees, is responsible for managing the medical equipment inventory of the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG). Its main functions include technological and regulatory monitoring, investment planning, prescription, acquisition, and maintenance of medical equipment. Additionally, this service implements and monitors materiovigilance prescriptions (the head of service is the HUG materiovigilance correspondent with SwissMedic).
The Biomedical Engineering Sector includes 7 biomedical engineers, 2 quality managers, and 1 assistant, under the responsibility of the head of service.
Job Description
Within the Biomedical Engineering sector, you plan, manage, and process acquisition and renewal files for medical equipment assigned to you, taking into account the overall operating costs.
You also participate in defining an equipment strategy for your activity sector. Furthermore, you manage the equipment program during the study and implementation phases of the restructuring project.
You provide technological monitoring and technical advice to the Institution and physicians, gathering all elements related to your role to formulate proposals to the competent authority for decision-making.
You ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory constraints (AIMP, Odim / Odiv) and actively participate in the Service's quality management system.
You control commitments and invoices and ensure financial closing and fund calls for accounting services, as well as administrative tasks related to your role.
Qualifications
You hold a university degree in biomedical engineering or a university degree with additional training in biomedical engineering, along with a minimum of 5 years of recognized professional experience in the hospital field (hospital or clinic) in equivalent biomedical functions.
You have very good technical knowledge of biomedical equipment in hospitals. You demonstrate curiosity for medical techniques and practices. You possess in-depth knowledge in operating room and laboratory sectors, as well as hospital care units and intermediate care domains.
You master project management in the field of medical devices or in the organization of hospital technical platforms. Rigorous, you have a sense of organization and planning, methodology, and efficiency. Moreover, you know how to work in a team and have strong communication and listening skills. Your leadership skills (respect, listening, agility), rigor, and authenticity give you credibility that will allow you to support and lead multidisciplinary working groups.
You have advanced knowledge of standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and are generally comfortable with information systems and computer networks. You have the ability to write synthesis notes and well-founded analysis reports.
You demonstrate autonomy, accountability, and take responsibility for your decisions. With a view to continuous improvement, you participate in training.
You master the French language and have very good knowledge of English.
