Legal Internship 40 - 100% or Legal Auditor Position in the Legal Service 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for the enforcement of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professional groups, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, and the preparation of the departure of persons without valid residence status are of particular importance.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – are responsible for the enforcement of custodial sentences and court-ordered measures as well as probation assistance.
We have a fixed-term internship or auditor position in the legal service of the BVD to fill starting February or by arrangement, limited to a maximum of 12 months.
The internship is aimed at persons studying law to gain experience in various legal fields; job-sharing is possible. The auditor position enables persons with a completed law degree (lic. iur. / MLaw) to enter the legal profession.
The internship/auditor position offers a broad and exciting insight into the daily routine of criminal and measures enforcement as well as the associated diverse legal issues, especially in the areas of criminal law, administrative law, social insurance and social welfare law, immigration law, civil law (especially adult protection law), and data protection law.

- You clarify various legal questions and actively participate in legal advice
- You develop instructions, guidelines, and information sheets
- You prepare legal basis analyses, consultations on legislative changes, and statements for cantonal and national committees and supervisory bodies
- You have the opportunity to gain insight into other areas and accompany case-responsible persons to hearings of convicted persons, take minutes, and prepare orders (case work)
- You manage the BVD legal collection
- You take minutes at internal and external meetings
