Project Manager Youth Red Cross (60%)

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is the youth organization of the Swiss Red Cross Canton Zurich and part of the Volunteer Work department. The YRC is aimed at young adults with the goal of promoting social engagement, strengthening social responsibility, and making volunteer work accessible to a younger target group. With diverse activities in the areas of social affairs, integration, and health, we are committed to supporting people in difficult life situations and enabling encounters. As part of the SRC, the YRC is guided by the seven Red Cross principles and works in role-based, self-organized structures with flat hierarchies, creative freedom, and a lot of passion.

The YRC team currently consists of five part-time employees and one intern. We work with 360 young volunteers in various activities within the operational and strategic fields of migration/asylum, social integration, and health.

To strengthen the YRC Canton Zurich, we are looking for a: Project Manager (60%) as of March 1, 2026 or by agreement

The scope of tasks includes:

Coordination, support, and further development of existing projects
Development and conception of new participatory projects
Acquisition, support, assistance, and motivation of young volunteers
Conducting information events, training sessions, and other strategic forums for volunteers in their volunteer assignments
Networking at the cantonal and national level within and outside the organization
Public relations as well as planning and organizing social media activities
Administrative, strategic, and organizational tasks
Collaboration in a role-based self-organized team where everyone takes responsibility and actively shapes decisions

What you must bring:

(University) degree in sociocultural animation or social work
Practical training for supervising interns completed or willingness to complete it
Experience working with volunteers or as a volunteer
Willingness to work irregular hours (evening and Saturday shifts)
Confident appearance as well as high social and communication skills
Flexibility and interest in regularly changing areas of responsibility
Outgoing, proactive and creative, independent, reliable, and culturally sensitive
Willingness to take responsibility in the respective roles of self-organization
