As the Dean's Office, we ensure that the daily study and research routine runs smoothly. We support, advise, coordinate. • Setting up computers and devices

You will learn how to purchase computers, install programs, and connect new devices.

• End-user support

You help employees of the Phil.-hist. faculty with computer problems, set up new users, and answer questions about Office programs.

• Printers and network

You will learn how to install printers, lay cables, and connect computers to the company network.

• Programs and security

You install various programs, perform important updates, and learn how to keep computers secure.

• Troubleshooting

You assist with internet problems, email difficulties, and also provide remote support.

• Supporting meetings

You set up video conferences on Zoom and Teams and provide support as needed.

• Independent work

You develop your own solution ideas and write instructions for others.

• Various projects

You assist with larger IT projects and get to know many different areas of computer science at the University of Bern.

Educational requirements:

• Completion of secondary level A or good performance in secondary level B
• Good performance in German, mathematics, and English (French is an advantage)

Personal skills:

• You are interested in computers and find it exciting how technology works.
• You enjoy helping others, explain patiently, listen attentively, and remain calm even in stressful moments.
• You are curious, enjoy learning new things, and are reliable.
• You enjoy teamwork but can also work well independently.

Your skills:

• First experiences with computers, internet, Word, and email.
• Desire to find out why something does not work and enjoy problem-solving.
• Openness to English (reading and speaking).
• No fear of new technology (on the contrary, you are eager to try it out).
