Freight Forwarding Clerk Air Freight Import or Export

Initial Situation

In air freight, deadlines must be met, documents must be correct, and airlines must cooperate – and if something does go wrong, you need someone who doesn’t immediately take off. For our client, we are looking for a freight forwarding clerk who is at home in import or export and independently manages their shipments through daily operations.

Tasks

• independently handling demanding import and export dossiers
• creating and checking AWB, customs and export documents
• coordinating with airlines, handling agents, truckers and international partners
• monitoring flight schedules, capacities, cut-offs and time-critical shipments
• handling deviations, special cases and escalation-relevant issues
• maintaining and updating order and shipment data in the TMS
• supporting and advising customers on operational and technical questions
• contributing ideas for process optimisations and internal procedures

Requirements

• several years of experience in air freight import and/or export (Switzerland)
• completed training as a freight forwarding clerk or comparable background
• very good knowledge of customs and airline-specific regulations as well as security/DGR topics
• uncomplicated personality who thinks ahead and keeps a cool head even under time pressure
