What you can look forward to.
In the Transport Planning team of SBB Cargo with 16 employees, you plan and coordinate the demand-oriented and efficient handling of freight transport and ensure a reliable transport chain. You work during office hours without shift work and significantly contribute to the performance of freight transport. In a committed team, you develop pragmatic solutions, coordinate these with internal and external partners, and drive improvements in our planning processes. You benefit from diverse development opportunities in logistics planning and from cross-departmental collaboration that advances you both professionally and personally.
What you can achieve.
- As a transport coordinator, you receive orders for freight transports, analyse the requirements, and accompany the transport chain until handover to dispatch.
- With your team, you coordinate the deployment of rolling stock and personnel, review solution options, and manage an efficient, cost-optimised use of resources.
- In close cooperation with internal and external partners, you ensure a coordinated transport chain and continuously agree on the next steps.
- You develop pragmatic, operationally feasible solutions, make the necessary decisions, and prepare the handover to operational services.
- You actively question existing processes and consistently drive the continuous development and optimisation of our planning processes.
What you bring with you.
- You like to critically question existing processes, recognise optimisation potential, and specifically develop processes further. Your strong process understanding helps you with this.
- You work independently and remain resilient even in demanding situations. You think holistically and act solution-oriented.
- Customer orientation and a confident eye for optimal resource utilisation.
- Several years of experience in planning or dispatch in rail transport is a mandatory requirement.
- A completed vocational training EFZ and tertiary education in logistics, transport, business administration, or process management.
- Very good German skills (at least C1) and ideally knowledge of French or Italian at least A2.
