In the interest of employees and companies, the Office for Labor (AFA) contributes to strengthening the location Zurich. The Competence Center for Labor bundles the labor market policy competencies within the AFA and takes on important strategic tasks, projects, and services on topics of labor market policy as well as the implementation of unemployment insurance.
We are strengthening our team and are looking for an initiative, analytically strong, and communicative personality to lead the department "Labor Market Monitoring and Cooperation," who recognizes trends in the labor market, prepares research results appropriately for target groups, and leads an interdisciplinary team.
Your tasks:
- Professional, personnel, and administrative leadership as well as further development of the department with four employees
- Responsibility for strategic topic planning and further development of labor market monitoring
- Establishment and further development of regular monitoring of the situation and development of the labor market in the canton of Zurich
- Preparation of analyses and publications on labor market-relevant trends and findings (press releases, short reports, specialist articles, etc.)
- Ensuring target group-appropriate communication as well as knowledge transfer of scientific findings on the labor market within the AFA
- Representation of the AFA in expert committees, project groups, and public appearances
- Building and maintaining networks with universities, associations, and businesses
Your profile:
- University degree in economics or social sciences, preferably economics with a focus on macroeconomics (doctorate/PhD an advantage)
- Several years of professional experience, at least 5 years in relevant functions as well as initial leadership experience
- Solid knowledge in applied statistics, data analysis, and science communication
- Excellent written and oral expression in German; good knowledge of English and French is a plus
- Very good MS Office skills as well as good understanding of databases and analysis tools
- High conceptual thinking ability and a confident view of the big picture
- Innovative, team-oriented, and result-oriented personality with confident communication style
