Data Scientist 80 - 100%The Public Prosecutor's Office III of the Canton of Zurich handles qualified economic crimes as well as money laundering cases and is also responsible for international legal assistance.
We are looking for a Data Scientist (80-100%) for our dedicated team at the Police and Justice Center Zurich starting April 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
This is what you will be working on:
In this newly created position, you will support the public prosecutors of Public Prosecutor's Office III in preparing and analyzing data in complex criminal proceedings related to qualified economic crimes, money laundering, and legal assistance cases:
• You create sophisticated data analyses (image processing, speech processing, as well as analysis of financial and transaction data, etc.) for evidence presentation
• You help improve data evaluation processes in the investigation procedure
• You identify opportunities to use machine learning-based solutions in a contemporary manner for law enforcement and to transfer them into robust processes and tools
• You independently lead your projects conceptually and operationally
This is why you fit with us:
- You have a degree in computer science, data science (FH, ETH, university), or a comparable field
- You bring professional experience in data analysis and processing
- You have profound programming skills in Python
- You are a team player and comfortable working with both machines and people
- You have strong communication skills and comprehensive language skills in German (native) and English (C2 level)
- You are innovative, proactive, and service-oriented
- You can independently accompany and/or lead projects
- You have ideas on how your future field of activity could be shaped.
